Oh ok then - hello everyone, my name is Jo and I met Lisa through the Talkabout Primary MFL ning (and then in real life at TeachMeet, Isle of Wight, Primary Languages in Birmingham etc).. and was very impressed by her energy, enthusiasm and ideas. I'm not in the Birmingham area I'm afraid but I am a big fan and campaigner for language learning in primary schools, having taught to mixed age classes in a teeny weeny Devon school and now as a consultant in Hampshire. (Only temporary but sounds very grand I think).
As for something random about me - I've just discovered a little bar not far from here where they make milkshakes out of your favourite chocolate bars - any combinations you could possibly dream of.....heaven!
But how would you choose which chocolate bar.....?
I'm Laura and have spent the day preparing for the first directed time I'm leading in school after half term on introducing French. We start after Christmas I think! Eek!
My name is Isabelle and I am a Ning addict too. In fact, I met Jo and Lisa at some Ning-anonymous meeting on the Isle of Wight last weekend. I am Head of Languages in a large 11-16 comprehensive near Manchester and I also teach Spanish in one of our feeder primary. I have also started a private Ning in Oldham-send me a message with your email address if you are interested in joining to compare notes... I am planning to open up our Ning to all primaries and secondaries in Oldham in order to improve communication between Key Stages and in fact our PMFL co-ordinator has already joined the Ning.
Not very random... OK...
I am French, mother of 2, love chocolate, blogging and ... apparently I have a weird Oldham-French accent (nobody is perfect!!)
Hi, My name's Helena and I'm a Ning addict! I'm not technically a Birmingham Primary MFL teacher...but I did do my degree at Aston, so maybe that counts. I teach MFL at Ian Ramsey School in Stockton-on-Tees in the Northeast and recently began my own Ning for local teacher (Lisa is, of course a member). Although I mainly teach Secondary languages (French, German and Spanish) I do also teach Spanish in one of our feeder primary schools.
A random fact about me...I'm also know in some circles as "Mme Grigio"...can't imagine why!
Hi Everybody.....
Came across this by accident and wondered if any of you out there knew about our Learning Platform which uses multi languages which can be switched on individual basis in an instance...
Please be assured this is not a blatant sales pitch, I'm just really keen to find out how schools and teachers are using and promoting languages in primaries.
Our website for those interested is www.mylearningltd.co.uk
Hope you don't mind
Thanks
Paul
Apart from the obvious QCA units, what do people recommend for a S o W for Primary French that they've actually used? I've heard of the usual Catherine Cheater, Tout le Monde etc but haven't had the opportunity to use them myself. So what do teacher…
